Anglia across the Mersey

 (24/12/2007)

Anglia Healthcare Systems is delighted to announce that the company and its products have been chosen by the North Mersey Pathology cluster to provide GP Requesting and Reporting within the Merseyside area. In addition to this Anglia Healthcare will be linking all the laboratories within the cluster to provide Lab2Lab communications.

The NHS Trusts within the North Mersey Pathology cluster are:

  • University Hospital Aintree
  • Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust
  • Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital – Alder Hey
  • Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust
  • St Helen’s and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Warrington
  • Liverpool and Sefton PCTs

PCTs and GP practices that use services from any of the Trusts listed above will be affected by the initiative. In all the initial scope included 212 practices around North Mersey and a further 75 GP practices using services provided by St Helen’s & Knowsley and Warrington NHS Trusts.

Anglia Healthcare will be providing the ability to distribute requests to various laboratories by integrating with laboratories existing systems and managing the process of distributing the requests between laboratories. This solution will accommodate Lab to Lab communication where a request is redistributed to an alternative laboratory for analysis, for example a specialised investigation which is provided by a particular laboratory in the region.

Full House in Avon

 (06/11/2007)

AHSL is able to acknowledge that only this week it has signed a supply contract with United Bristol Hospitals NHS Trust (UBHT) to install the ICE Desktop Order Communications system at this prestigious group of acute care hospitals.

The remit upon AHSL is to configure the ICE Desktop browser based software to conduct clinical requesting and reporting services to both Primary Care GPs, and doctors in the Secondary Care setting hospitals.  Pathology and Radiology service provider laboratories using the GE Ultra LIMS and HSS CRIS respectively will be engaged in the implementation process; representing a scope of work that reflects a like installation that is well underway at the neighbouring North Bristol Hospitals NHS Trust.

The advent of United Bristol Hospitals NHS Trust as the most recent ICE Desktop user marks a full house of acute care hospitals in the Avon area committed to ICE software; Weston Area Health NHS Trust already has ICE Desktop Order Communications operating for GP practices, and Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust is in the process of offering services to GPs; these in addition to the two Bristol trusts completing the set.

At this point in time not all four acute trusts have commissioned ICE Desktop for secondary care settings, but they have for primary care GP practices within Avon meaning that electronic order communications will come on stream for the following Primary Care Trusts (PCTs):

  • South Gloucestershire PCT
  • Bristol North PCT
  • North Somerset PCT
  • Bristol & South West PCT
  • Bath & North East Somerset PCT

It is advised that GPs interested in participating in the ICE Desktop service should register their intent with the local service provider at their contracted acute Pathology and Radiology laboratories.

Customer Satisfaction Results

 (25/10/2007)

The results from our TNS Prognostics customer satisfaction survery have arrived and we are happy to report that of the 200 responses we received over 97% of customers were satisfied overall with our service.

The response was higher than anticipated and we were very pleased with the overall results.  We would like to thank those who took part and hope to get an even better response next year.

Customer feedback is very important to us as it lets us know the things we are getting right and the things we need to work on.  All of your comments will be analysed by the management team and we hope to improve our service to you as a result.  We have already highlighted a number of areas were we hope to bring in improvements and will be working on these over the coming weeks and months.  Hopefully you will be able to tell us how we did in next years survey.

Once again, many thanks to those who took part.

How many ways to order your ICE?

 (01/06/2007)

ICE Desktop software from Anglia has taken a leading market share in the UK market for clinical order communications.

Orders have now been placed for over sixty installations of ICE Desktop Requesting and ICE Desktop Reporting that in recent years have been procured via a number of established NHS routes – SYSCON contract; LSP contract; direct trust contract; SHA direct order, ICE system upgrade etc.

Now there’s a new way to order ICE – NHS G-Cat framework contract.

Anglia has recently come to an arrangement with Computacenter UK to act as its sponsor for this procurement channel. Organisations wishing to investigate this approach should contact Anglia to establish the scope of work sought so that a value may be established. A quotation will be passed to Computacenter who will in turn add a modest margin and present a quotation direct upon the interested party for their confirmation. This method circumvents the lengthy contract protocols mentioned above and installations are underwritten by Anglia’s comprehensive Product Licence and Service level Agreement documents.

Orders for ICE raised in this way through G-Cat are delivered and project managed direct by Anglia.

For further details please contact Anglia’s Norwich office in the first instance.

Anglia Continues To Recruit More Staff……

 (01/05/2007)

The Company continues to grow at a pace given the increasing number of instructions from acute hospitals to install the ICE Desktop Order Communications software. A continuous flow of orders to service the Primary Care GP practice market place has, surprisingly, been bolstered by demand for ICE software in Secondary Care setting, particularly in London and the South East.

Coupled with successful installations of ICE Discharge and ICE Lab2Lab, Anglia have increased their resources to ensure continued levels of excellence in the installation and support of ICE systems.

Our implementation team now has managers located in the following areas:-

  • North
  • Midlands
  • Wales
  • East Anglia
  • London
  • South East
  • South West

Our development department has a new specialist team to manage all interfaces whilst a separate team continues to develop ICE Desktop and exciting new applications.

New offices have been acquired to house our expanded support department to ensure we continue to offer support services above and beyond the standards of our SLAs.

To further support our Lab2Lab commitments a dedicated ICE Desktop Lab2Lab specialist has been recruited.
