Anglia Healthcare Systems is delighted to announce that the company and its products have been chosen by the North Mersey Pathology cluster to provide GP Requesting and Reporting within the Merseyside area. In addition to this Anglia Healthcare will be linking all the laboratories within the cluster to provide Lab2Lab communications.

The NHS Trusts within the North Mersey Pathology cluster are:

• University Hospital Aintree
• Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust
• Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital – Alder Hey
• Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust
• St Helen’s and Knowsley Hospitals NHS Trust
• Warrington
• Liverpool and Sefton PCTs

PCTs and GP practices that use services from any of the Trusts listed above will be affected by the initiative. In all the initial scope included 212 practices around North Mersey and a further 75 GP practices using services provided by St Helen’s & Knowsley and Warrington NHS Trusts.

Anglia Healthcare will be providing the ability to distribute requests to various laboratories by integrating with laboratories existing systems and managing the process of distributing the requests between laboratories. This solution will accommodate Lab to Lab communication where a request is redistributed to an alternative laboratory for analysis, for example a specialised investigation which is provided by a particular laboratory in the region.
